Re: Is the Now.TV box worth £9.99 without subscription

I'm NOWTV current subscriber but use RokuLT on which NOWTV box is based.
One thing you won't get on box is Netflix - for obvious reasons. Also it can't get ITV Player.
Back in June/July a lot of people here did buy £9.99 box - it's actually good value as includes hdmi cable.

Re: Is the Now.TV box worth £9.99 without subscription

Thanks guys
@Nadger
I am not to bothered about netflix and the like, as I don't get that much time to sit and watch films, therefore would be a waste of money tbh.
I am more interested in the catch up TV side, would I need a subscription to watch them on the aforementioned box.
I see that https://shop.nowtv.com/?DCMP=KNC-Brand- mentions

Do I need a subscription to keep my NOW TV box?
You must already have or be able to create a NOW TV account to setup your NOW TV Box.
You can still keep your NOW TV Box and use any other app that you've downloaded if you've cancelled your NOW TV subscription or stopped buying Sky Sports Day Passes.
However they are not clear what channel(s) can still be viewed
I know that I need an internet connection as it is not capable of running from the roof top aerial.
What apps can anyone recommend from their list http://images.now.nowtv.com/Web/BSKYBMovies/%7B180d0310-6205-4f3f-976e-22197dceff7b%7D_nowtv_box_app... that are free  Smiley

@TORPIC - have a look here http://community.nowtv.com/
For reference I only run one Roku box on 8mb connection and have no streaming problems.

Re: Is the Now.TV box worth £9.99 without subscription

The box Is definitely worth the cash. I don't have a NOW.TV sub any more and still able to watch BBCi player, 4OD and 5OD all for free and now there Is the Sky Store where you can just rent ( a ) movie.

Re: Is the Now.TV box worth £9.99 without subscription

Demand5 seems to be a cut down version as I still need to record Mentalist and Person of Interest. There are no commercials.
4OD seems fairly comprehensive but there are commercials albeit reduced in length.
No ITV Payer and can't see that appearing for quite a while.
BBC iPlayer is obviously comprehensive.

Re: Is the Now.TV box worth £9.99 without subscription

Merry christmas Nadger and thank you for taking the time to post, today  Smiley
That sound like the deal clincher to me  Wink (you should work for them Tongue ;D)
When you say Demand5 seems to be a cut down version, do you mean the programs and films etc are not full length ?? (hence having to record the Mentalist etc)
Its a pity that ITV Player does not stretch themselves on as many devices as is possible, as its only a matter of allowing the code / app hopefully (it wont take to long (wont be holding my breath though))  Grin
I am ok with reduced length commercials, as they pay for the channels  Tongue
BBC iPlayer set the example for the iPlayers (in respect of availability through more devices) and they all should be available (although we don't make the rules)
Thank you to all that has helped and a Merry christmas to you all

Available programmes are full length - some just aren't there albeit it says they are when watching CH5.
eg Castle and Under the Dome were available but not Mentalist or POI.
I always said I'd never give Sky a penny but NOWTV doesn't tie me to a contract.

Merry christmas 2u2me thank you
That was quick for Royal Mail aka (Snail Mail)  Smiley
Hi Nadger
That liveable I suppose, however it can be disappointing when they don't put  all the programs/ films that we would like on the app
I have said the same bout Sky and the like(s) however, Subscription free is really crying out (buy me, buy me now)  Cheesy Grin
You have all helped me make my mind up, and I am going to purchase 1 in the new year
