The printer worked perfectly out of the box with a USB cable but initially it would not connect to the Wi-Fi until it did an automatic firmware update.
I also found that when I pressed the Info button on the front panel it printed out the WPS-PIN code in order for me to be able connect it to my router. (Strangely, I couldn't see this tip anywhere in the set-up instructions).
Very pleased.

With respect, to the original post title question....
Only if it is kept in the box, un-used, and in pristine condition, with the original purchase receipt...... for 100 years... it will then be classed as and antique, and "probably" worth quite a bit, being the only example of primitive 21st century printing equipment.
Oh, and remember to keep the box in good condition too, as collectors do like them to be unmarked....

Hmm.... Collectors do like to have the original box, in good condition, if possible.... without the box, it loses some value, for some reason... Cry
I am not an expert in this, but have watched quite a lot of Antique programs lately...  Wink

The reviews shown on your first link suggest that it might not be the best choice (though not that many reviews and some people will post a bad review for the strangest of reasons).
I used to really like Epson printers but I've been rather disappointed in the (lack of) reliability of my last two, now using HP which (so far) are proving very acceptable.

Re: Is the Epson XP-212 WiFi AIO Printer worth investing in ??

I used to be a HPaholic
Until I was given a now old defunct Epson printer, which I found much cheaper on inks
The SX115 does not miss a beat & the quality is on par with HP, however as need to future proof with the increasing use of tablets  phablets etc it is felt necessary to upgrade to the flavour of WiFi printing & this looks to suit our needs.
Was hoping for some members to be using it, so i could get an impartial review
Referring to reviews
You are right as more negative reviews get posted rather than positive reviews
Some bad reviews could be a result of a conflict software / virus or other anomaly that some can not get it working / drivers installed from disc etc

Do you have spare inks for your existing printer?
If so, is it possible to find one that suits your needs that uses the same inks?

Then you misunderstand the purpose of wifi in printers...

No that is why we are keeping our options open
@pwatson
Can you please elaborate
As using an app from tablet / phablet to the printer via WiFi will activate printer on command (will it not), thus no need for the USB cable in such cases
