Is my router done for?

I have been connected before but now none. It is a ADSLANNEX CC300011UK from SWEEX.
I did a check and it says
checking ADSL Synchronization FAIL
So does this mean I need to buy a new router?

It could equally be a fault on the line or at the exchange.
Can you borrow one from anyone to check?
