I am thinking of replacing my 8gb ipod touch battery which is almost 2 years old and I think the battery is on its way out,I noticed that Amazon are selling them but I need to know what generation it is I have lost the receipt and I wonder how i can find out before I order it.

I have seen the video on replacing the battery on the ipod touch I am not sure about the soldering bit looks a bit awkward I thought it would be a small connector that clips on the battery not too keen now on replacing it now.

Look around your local area, if you don`t know anyone who can use a small soldering iron.... If you see a BIG horizontal aerial, it probably belongs to a radio ham... knock on his door and see if he will do the job for you, ! or a local radio repair shop?
