Ipod Touch

I am thinking of getting a new ipod touch from Apple because my other ipod touch is three years old and I am not getting much out of the battery,I just wondered if the latest generation would have any improvments

Is that a generation 4 iPod touch? The latest gen. 5 is much of an improvement, faster processor, more RAM and screen longer making it 16:9 ratio.
