Internet Explorer crashing

There seems to be something wrong with the internet explorer I have on my W98 PC.
It doesn't seem very stable.
It is Ver 6.0.2800.1106IS
Cipher Strength 128-bit
Update Versions;: SP1;q313829;Q918439;Q916281;Q833989;Q891781
Is there anything I can do to improve this version and to prevent it crashing so often.

Install FireFox.

Its MS its not crashing its a feature.
Firefox is the answer or remove IE and reinstall it. I cant remember 98 if you add remove is there a windows components which lets you remove it or not?
Does it only crash on javascript or java pages

Thanks PJ will try all your advice and maybe I will Try Firefox as a last resort.

you cant remove IE as it is used in all sorts of thing, just dont use it for browsing - Win 98se user
