Quote Rose suggests that an iPlayer user could end up getting a good quality service for £10 a month, with improved video and audio quality coming at a cost of perhaps £20 per month. Certainly this would make iPlayer more attractive to ISPs but what about consumers?

That's a ridiculous amount to pay - given that you've already paid once for the actual content.
Anyway, a DRM-free download (intended for an iPhone) is only about 250MBytes/hour.
If you put this onto a DVD it gives near-DVD quality when played back on a wide-screen LCD television.
Would the £10 - £20 per month include the cost of the TV licence required to watch the production?
