I've also had a dud that the supplier replaced without a problem.
It feels like the supplier is not that reliable and so I wouldn't really recommend them
I occassionaly print a few photos but generally its text attachments and the kids homework.
Does anyone have a strong recommendation and do you buy original or "compatible"
Thanks

I usually but Jettec cartridges - brand new compatibles, not refills - which usually have extra capacity as standard
I have noticed however that HP cartridges tend to be refills or originals most of the time

I have a Canon now so that isn't an option so I buy the originals from Amazon Marketplace as that seems to be the cheapest

This didn't use to be the case but for original cartridges Amazon will take some beating given their latest pricing

Thanks for that Jim - currently Amazon are undercutting MX2 by about a pound for my Epson cartridges. Maybe they still will be when I next need another - which will be some months hence, as the Stylus Photo 1400 is extremely miserly with ink.

Quote from: Oldjim When I had an Epsom I used to buy them from here http://www.valueshop.co.uk/ ; and I was very happy with the Jettec alternatives.
I have a Canon now so that isn't an option so I buy the originals from Amazon Marketplace as that seems to be the cheapest
Just in case this helps Lidl are currently doing a range of Canon cartridges at £2.99 each
I just bought a set of 5 for my Canon iP4600
Unfortunately store like Lidl or Aldi don't regularly re-stock so grab it while you can

Quote from: the Can anyone recommend a good supplier of print cartridges. I've used an online firm that have been a bit hit and miss. The last order I put in for a replacement black HP cartridge (not an original but "HP Compatible"") was supposed to have 24mls or 4 times the normal capacity but it has hardly lasted at all (feels like less than the normal capacity). As it only cost £9.95 I'm not that bothered
I've also had a dud that the supplier replaced without a problem.

Just back from hols and thought that I may be permitted to give my supplier for canon i905 BC16 carts. £13 ea originals in local shop, £9.70 from supplier and only £2.92 for compatibles which appear to be just as good !!! They also supply all sorts of useful gear very resonably. Delivery usually next day First Class Post. www.premier-ink.co.uk will find full lists.

My ink costs around £10 - £14 per cartridge at staples http://www.staples.co.uk or wiliknsons http://www.wilkinsonplus.com/
HP have finally sorted out the ink levels programme issue with windows vista so should get more warning this time. Previously my ink usually runs out on Sunday afternoon in the middle of an assignment or other paperwork due Monday am!
Sorry for hijacking this thread but any 160gsm inkjet paper supplier at reasonable cost would be apprecaited. So far am looking at a ream costing in the region of £24. Almost 125% of printer cost
