Re: IE11? blocking response to search of website. 'Can't display page' error

Have been away (mentally rather than physically), but now catching up. I'm amazed, and delighted, that you are all continuing to help with this problem. Two points on the suggestions. 1. I tried Firefox long ago (and Chrome) with absolutely no luck.  2. How do I put the suggested IP into my hosts file. Don't even know what that is!
When my friend got in using a macbook and my router (therefore through plusnet) he was on WI-FI, which I don't use. Another friend got through instantly on WI-FI with his own router. I can't see how this can be a fault with my ethernet, but the whole computer thing increasingly baffles me, so....

I'm having similar trouble accessing a specific website when connected to plusnet broadband.  The website in question is https://www.travelex.co.uk.

@Russell,
A warm welcome to the forums.
Given that this is a financial site, I'm wondering if you've been hit with this - http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,130918.0.html - issue, which makes the site think you are from outside the UK?

Re: IE11? blocking response to search of website. 'Can't display page' error

Thanks for the welcome & intruiging suggestion Townman Smiley
However, according to http://geoiplookup.net my IP (143.159.xxx.xxx) is registered to Plusnet and is shown as UK for the geographical region.
Still can't access the Travelex site fom any device via Plusnet broadband at home, but the same devices (laptop, Android phone) don't have an issue when connected via another network (office LAN, O2 mobile network).
So this is not a device/OS/browser issue.  Seems pretty clear it's a Plusnet-related thing (router/network).
Not ultimately that bothered (unless it affects other sites that I want to access) but it does seem strange.

Russell,
This might be a new-network issue - See https://community.plus.net/forum/index.php?topic=147733.16

Yup.  Sounds like it. Virtually identical troubleshooting & results just with a different site.
Thanks for the link, may help others who arrive at this thread with a similar issue.
Cheers

I'm having similar trouble accessing a specific website when connected to plusnet broadband.  The website in question is https://www.travelex.co.uk.
I can access this site OK on my mobile phone when connected to the mobile phone network (o2).  But if I connect my phone to the wifi hotspot from my plusnet router I can't then connect to this site.  This behaviour is reproducible on demand.
I also have the same problem accessing this site from any of the other devices (iPad with Safari and PC with IE11) connected to my plusnet router.  I have rebooted my router but this made no difference.
Would appreciate it if someoe else (on plusnet) could try to access the https://www.travelex.co.uk website and let me know if it's just me?  Have already spoken to a friend using BT broadband, and he can access the site ok.

As I started this hare in the first place I was ale to get into travelex....

Re: IE11? blocking response to search of website. 'Can't display page' error

Recently tried to order some currency from tesco bank and tesco loaded OK but would not complete because of the travelex website was blocked which tesco use for currency transactions. All computers and tablets were the same ie travelex was blocked. Only way around it was to use a VPN connection on plusnet router which went through OK. Site must be being blocked by ISP

@piratepete108

Might be your IP Address , there is a rather large thread about this at https://community.plus.net/t5/Plusnet-Feedback/IP-addresses-not-UK-Can-customers-please-report-any-p...

Do any of the geo-location on this page show your address as  non UK https://www.iplocation.net/ ?

If so then please consider adding to the thread linked to above
