IE hanging

Whilst GoogleChrome links are working as normal, I find I can't now get into IE.
Just seems to hang on the IE loading screen.
I usually power down overnight. Last night, for the first time in yonks, I was offered the option to update before automatically powering down. I took that option.
A check now reveals a whole raft of Windows updates overnight::- KBs 3004365, 3019215,3021674, 3022777,3023266.
Also two listed as yesterday:- KBs 3019978, 3024663.
Now, if I try  to go into, e.g bbc.co.uk, from Win8.1 start screen it hangs on the blue 'e' screen.
However I can get from the start screen into Kaspersky or Malwarebytes, maybe because they were set up later probably going through my much  preferred GoogleChrome.
Has anyone else encountered this?
Any thoughts please?

Hanging's too good for it, if you ask me...  Wink

Re: IE hanging

Try Start-All Programs-Accessories-System Tools-internet Explorer (No Add-ons).  I'm not sure how you would get there in Windows 8 - right click the icon perhaps?

Re: IE hanging

If you suspect it's the updates, it might be worth trying a System Restore. If it then works, install the updates one or two at a time until you find the culprit. If it isn't the updates, you can just reinstall them all - and it's back to the drawing board. Sad
