Before parting with some pennies, it might be worth re-installing or updating your graphics drivers. Smiley

Re: I Need A Cheap Graphics Card

Steve,
The first question is how much memory have you installed and which operating system are you using.
The reason for this question is whether a graphics card with a decent amount of on board memory is preferred

Re: I Need A Cheap Graphics Card

I am having real bother with my PC, And I can replicate my PC Crashing, I can always get It to crash or freeze when I run experience index test and Its freezing at running direct 3D aero assessment!
2gb of Ram and using windows 7 32 bit, Also my PSU only has an output of 250W.

Re: I Need A Cheap Graphics Card

Well I have tried to replicate the complete freeze up again by running the windows experience index test. It has ran twice now, Albeit rather slowly but no crashing or lock ups. Took out a stick of ram Now running windows on just 1GB if that!

Re: I Need A Cheap Graphics Card OR New Ram

You should now try the other stick and if that runs OK I suggest backing off the memory timings in the bios and then trying two sticks again

Re: I Need A Cheap Graphics Card OR New Ram

Looking at just your processor alone Steve I'd say a 250W PSU is a bit low tbh.
I'm using a 2.8 Celeron with 1Gb Ram  - it's single core and all about 8 years old (so fairly old). Even so I'm using a 400w supply. Might just be worth trying another just in case.
I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!
