How old are these PlusNet charges?

Just came across this info in an old file:
ADSL Professional
ISP: PlusNet
Install Cost: £260
Monthly Charge: £80
Quarterly Charge: £240
Yearly Charge: £960
All prices exclude VAT and 1 year contract
You may chose FREE install and pay £320 per quarter
24 hour technical support
This is part of a PlusNet promo comparing PlusNet with seven other providers
PS ....and 20:1 contention is 'expected'

Re: How old are these PlusNet charges?

Hi there,
Could you let me know where you found this information and we'll be able to contact them to correct their information.
It sounds like a very old business product (circa 2000) which we used to offer in the day when ADSL services cost an absolute fortune.

Hi James
It's actually a print from www.plus.net/info/professional_product.html
I was just thinking how times have changed.

Re: How old are these PlusNet charges?

Absolutely.  I remember when I was working for PIPEX in 2002, they were selling a 2Mbps product for £220/mth.
That webpage 404's for me, interestingly.  Or were you looking on something like archive.org?

Re: How old are these PlusNet charges?

Sorry James
Yes it will 404 as it's as I said, a print from that page when it existed...a hard copy in American Sci-Fi parlance.
If the Moderators will allow......
BT Openworld monthly charge quoted at £99.99
Demon....£95
Freeserve (remember them) £99.99
Easynet £79
ITG/Concentric £99
IOMart ?  £110
Nildram £110 inc VAT

No I wasn't but I have used archive.org before...the stats about that site are staggering. The amount of data they store and the rate that it grows...unbelievable

Never mind if the moderators will allow it - can you attach a scan of the page? Grin

Do I win a PlusNet mug for these?

Re: How old are these PlusNet charges?

The ethernet option was considered professional with a better contention ratio etc (my cost calcs are the same as the OP's) which is probably why it was double!

I think Kelly goes back about as far as that too Smiley
I'm just a whippet at 2004/6 (depending on whose argument you buy).
