This won't be clear ...
I "did something" without knowing and then undid it without realising ...
Somwhow I created (by some click-combination) a "shortcut toolbar" on my desktop.
That is, an existing shortcut to a directory on one of my HD partitions "turned into" a toolbar for that shortcut (displaying it's subdirectories) on the desktop
I know this is clear as mud, (but I was doing something else completely and suddenly found this novelty under the mouse pointer ... and because I was thinking elsewhere, closed it as quickly without really noticing what was going on .. otherwise you'd get a screenshot)
Windows XP Home Sp3, by the way
Anyone have a clue what I did or how I might recreate it?
paul

nope.
you can create a toolbar by right-clicking on the taskbar and then toolbars/create toolbar and selecting a folder
it looked a bit like that but on the desktop
I feel extremely lame for not being able to reproduce this or even describe it at all adequately.
