How can I have two files with the same name - SOLVED there was an extra space

This isn't a problem but I am puzzled
I run regular backups on my better half's XP machine using Acronis boot CD and the last one - this morning - I told it to use an existing file name by accident but not to use incremental backup
After it had completed and I rebooted into Windows I found that there were two files with the same name but with different creation dates one month apart
I will run another fresh backup just in case but I wondered how it is possible

Re: How can I have two files with the same name

Not normally possible in windows. You sure there isn't a space or a different letter in there?
I can have several combo's using uPper and Lower case but M$ ntfs/fat isn't case sensitive.

Re: How can I have two files with the same name

I don't think so
However as the file wasn't created under Windows there may have been something in the attributes which differentiated it

Have you got Windows Explorer set to show the extensions?

Re: How can I have two files with the same name

yes and they both had the .tib extension
Ignore - I just realised that there was a space between the end of the file name and the .tib
