This isn't a problem but I am puzzled
I run regular backups on my better half's XP machine using Acronis boot CD and the last one - this morning - I told it to use an existing file name by accident but not to use incremental backup
After it had completed and I rebooted into Windows I found that there were two files with the same name but with different creation dates one month apart
I will run another fresh backup just in case but I wondered how it is possible

Not normally possible in windows. You sure there isn't a space or a different letter in there?
I can have several combo's using uPper and Lower case but M$ ntfs/fat isn't case sensitive.

I don't think so
However as the file wasn't created under Windows there may have been something in the attributes which differentiated it

yes and they both had the .tib extension
Ignore - I just realised that there was a space between the end of the file name and the .tib
