Linux Mint 16 ....
How do I make the "VIEW" LIST as the default view when I want to see what is in a folder?
At the moment, whenever I open HOME and get presented with the contents, it is a load of icons ( by default )... so I change the view to LIST, and that only lasts for the present view, next time it reverts to icons again...
OK... found it.... "Edit" > "Preferences" > change from Icon view to List .....

OR Press
CTRL-1 for icon
2 for list
3 for small icons.
Works in caja should work in other file managers.
