Yeah, I thought it looked a bit tight,    luckily I have about 2mm clearance from my heatsink to the case side.

James . for reasons beyond my control i couldnt get the 6300  but i got my 4100 up to 4.5 stable at 52 deg

Great overclock and temps Ron, what were you running it at before the OC ?

it was 3.6 at about 45 deg   but had turbo up too 4.0
i have gained 26%

Is overclocking your graphics card next on the agenda then Ron 
I just clocked my memory from 1600MHz to 1866MHz, I can't see it will make much difference but if I can do it, why not.

I've never really been into overclocking myself, Don't see the point lol, if I wanted a faster CPU, I'd buy one.

after some reading before i try to OC the CPU , reading that OC the RAM dont make a lot of difference , depends on RAM of course but best to OC via the voltage 
PS my GFX card is already above stock by 10%  but thats enough for now , will let it run a few weeks now .
windows Experiance has gone up from 7.1 to 7.3 ,, but win experience isnt a lot

Thats it Ron, I had to up my RAM voltage from 1.50v to 1.65v and also loosen my timings from 9,9,9,24 to 9.10.9.27. I will try to drop to 1.60v later now I know it is stable.

Over-clocking is prone to failure in a heat wave.

James  managed to get the new cpu today  nice shiny FX 6300.
just going to run on stock speeds for a while to compare to the old 4100

James  just been playing around with OC max i got it to run at was  4.7  but temp was 57 not to bad but left it at 4.3 for know

It looks like AMD and Intel have stopped putting the recommended TJ MAx on their CPU's now, I have had a google and it seems most people say 62 degrees is about the MAX you should push for your 6300 Ron to be comfortable. BF3 seems to be a CPU hungry game, as BF3 pushes mine to around an average of 56, where as ARMA 3 is around 50. Maybe BF4 might be more GFX oriented so it might keep the CPU temps down a few degrees, but then again we are talking EA so it will probably be the same CPU hungry game and server side hit reg. I an waiting a few weeks before getting BF4, and if the talk is that it is geared for high pingers like BF3, then they can shove it.

i've had to clean the cpu fan out for running at 85 twice already.
