Homemade Webserver

I would be interested to know if anyone is running their own webserver as I am. Not really any content there yet but it runs 24/7 all the same.
I would be interested in hearing from anyone else. What is the specs of the machine? What operating system etc.
Obviously an ADSL connection is a bit slow for an effective webserver but I do it anyway cos I am interested in servers/networking and like the idea of physically owning my own tiny part of the internet.
For anyone who may be interested the specs of my server are as follows:
Fedora core 7
Dual 1Ghz Pentium 3
768Mb RAM
1 x 4Gb HDD mounted on /
2 x 2.1Gb HDD (RAID 0) mounted on /home (document root/database content)

Well it's not the same spec as the ones above, but...
Case/PSU - CoolerMaster, not sure which one. 500w qtec PSU (yes, it's due for an upgrade)
CPU - AMD Athlon 1400+ (running a little hot at 1400mHz)
MoBo - Abit KG-7 Raid
RAM - 1Gb (2x512) ECC DDR400
HDD - 1 x 40gb maxtor (OS), 1 x 320gb seagate 7200.10, 2 x 250gb Western Digital in linear raid
Optical - Pioneer DVD/RW
Debian Lenny (upgrade from an etch install), no X, currently running headless.

I have perfect line of sight accross a valley. I got the equiptment on the internet somewhere. Few years ago, can't remember exactly where but the antennas were £115 each and the 2.4Ghz extension cables running out to the antennas were £30 each!

Hmmm... gives me an idea - but I thought that kind of power antennas were illegal in this country.

I bought that equiptment from a UK site. It has been up and running for about 4-5 years. If you notice I also have 2 satellite dishes on my house for which someone told me that planning permission is needed. I live in the middle of the country. Noone has said anything to me yet!

I think the legal limit is 20db. Although I am currently running the access points at full power the link still works on reduced power (less than 20db) if ever anyone tells me I have to change it.

Not if you are running standard wireless kit Liam - 20dB is the limit... There are various options available if you want to do something more too. Quick intro here:

Those antenna's are from Solwise, although for future access points we are working with a Antenna expert at Sheffield Uni who designs them and is getting a pile built in the far east.
