Hi-fi Speaker Cable

Hope this is the right forum, I'm buying some 322 strand 2.5mm speaker cable from ebay, does anyone know the difference (if there is any) between cable measuring 3.6mmx 7.5mm and cable measuring 4.3mm x 7.5mm?

Well if they are all 322 strand it would imply that the difference in size is to be found on the insulation which should have no noticeable effect on the quality, just harder to hide.

possibly the impedance value of the cable but as mook  said probably just more insulation

Sorry, another question, should the blue line wire be used as negative or positive?  I've read conflicting reports including it doesn't matter which as long as they are consistent.

It does not really matter at all, it might help you use this simple rule though so that in 3 years time or more when you are looking at them you do not get too confused. If you are bi-wiring the speakers this rule really does help.

The 4·3mm cable will give extended, vibrant bass, a transparent, panoramic sound stage, and superlative high end response. 
For the normal human - 24 strand bell wire will sound superb, depending on the source obviously.

I don't have a dedicated, acoustically optimised listening room/home cinema therefore cheap, multi strand, twin cable suffices.
