Re: Help with an ipod shuffle

Those kernel messages are the normal messages you get when plugging in a usb disk.
What happens when you try to manually mount the partition (as root)? e.g. "mount /dev/sde1 /some/directory"

Re: Help with an ipod shuffle

It will mount manually it is a vfat drive but it should "automount" according to all the help files.

Re: Help with an ipod shuffle

You could try mounting it with the "udisks" command, it should be just "udisks --mount /dev/sde1", as your normal user, not root.
There may have been additional log messages in either ~/.xsession-errors or the system log.

Re: Help with an ipod shuffle

From launchpad (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libgpod/+bug/565971) it looks like it has been an issue for past year.
Neither answer their works for me.

Re: Help with an ipod shuffle

Looks like I spoke too soon, Today it is mounting. A it M$ like in it wanted a reboot  Cheesy
Probably the change from "Partition" to "Disk" did it.
