Help! What is “364bf52c.mpstat.us”?

I’ve just discovered (via I.E’s History) that I am “visiting” this “site” (and 364bf526d.mpstat.us) - this is news to me!  I’ve done a search but the links are not in “simple” terms i,e understandable by me!  I run “Kaspersky ISS” and regularly check with Malwarebytes Anti-malware but these don’t find this. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Apparently it is associated with BBC News http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/winphone/forum/wp8-wpnetwork/mpstatus-on-explorer-history/8362a18...
I don't see it on Firefox but I think Adblock Plus stops it

Oldjim: Thank you very much for your reply and the info / link. I’ve read that and have decided not to visit the BBC News anymore! There are plenty of other news sites!

Is it actually causing any problem or harming anything? There's far less stuff like that on the BBC news website than other news sites.
