I followed Bob Pullen's advice here http://community.plus.net/library/tools/how-to-password-protect-your-website/
but now when I attempt to access any of the pages of the site in this folder I get error message Not found-404.
I wonder if you can kindly suggest what I have done wrong?

I would also mention that I put all of the pages I wished to protect in a new folder called 'memfile' and then put the htaccess and htpasswd files in the same folder then renamed them.

Hello, I've not used caps anywhere. Not sure whether the htaccess and htpasswd files go in the folder, in any order, or whether I've done something else incorrectly.
