HG612 + Netgear XR300 Nighthawk

Hi all,

After an extensive research I've decided to go with my own router + HG612 modem. All for better network setup and wifi range. I know I can 'unlock' the HG612 to access line stats and whatnot. However, I am not interested in the stats and just want it to do its job as a modem. Just wanted to ask those with the same setup (HG612+own router) if I need to unlock it in order for it to work with my router? Or can I just 'plug and play' it, leave it as I got it? Many thanks.

It’s simply plug and play. You need to enter your Plusnet username and password in the router.
