So today 19 or so odd years after i had a previous interest in her, i thought i'd lookup what the popstar Alice Deejay looks like here in 2018 (and so far not bad!).
But there seems to be something wrong with google images - when clicking on a picture it doesn't expand with its usual details.
Tried in Chrome (two different profiles), firefox, Seamonkey, Cometbird and even resorted to IE which seemed to directly link to external sites when clicked.
Has google broken something or is this deliberate?

I can add Safari to that list so it's not just a windows thing. I'm getting the same problem on my mac. It's very frustrating.

Yeah, summat's up with it - Chrome/Win7 (when I click on a 'thumbnail' I can see what is presumably the URL of the enlarged picture's site at the bottom of the screen but the picture doesn't actually load.)

Have noticed that if I right click on a thumbnail google image I can successfully load the picture either in a new window or new tab. Not how it used to work...

@shutter Yes Firefox seems to work as you would expect.... which hopefully means that the change in experience is by accident not design... fingers crossed.

Most of those damn CAPTCHAs don't seem to work for me now.
That's down to google tinkering as well.
Google is getting far too much control over how things run online.

Broken in Firefox too - google image search gave this image, which is only 3,000px × 3,000px (scaled to 576px × 576px) - clicking on it gives a You Tube thing.

I think google are trying to save on bandwidth, so that they can include more javascript relating to adverts.

@VileReynard Must be something wrong with LINUX, then... cos Win7 Pro with Firefox uptodate shows this for image search..
Followed by a click on one of the "thumbnails" .....
And... clicking on the large image above, gives a web page, in full ...

I thought it was just me. I click on all the photos with cars, then get more which I click correctly on. Click on Verify or Skip and then I'm offered the chance to select, say, buses. This could go on several times before being told that the capture was wrong.
The worst of the lot seems to be when it is street signs. Sometimes you get a tiny bit of a sign in the corner of square which often is rejected and other times is accepted. A right pain in the preverbial.

What I often get now is it doesn't "tick" and then after a long pause I either get the usual cars/buses or a message about browser problems or a large block of code to cut and paste into another box.
It's all getting very tedious. I wonder if website owners realise a lot of people give up and just go elsewhere.

Actually, I've since tried a few more images - and some are just placeholders - if you ask for 4K definition images you get shown a much reduced image - but if you click on it, you get shown a rubbish You Tube video.
For example:-
Search for "Lonely Planet" with size restricted to 70Mp
Click on the postage stamp picture.
You won't see the big picture - you get a rubbish web site instead!

@VileReynard Must be a LINUX problem ! ! ! ..
Also clicked on the "INDIA" book, and some of the "thumbnails" offered as alternative images.... the vary in size depending on which one you click on...
No "rubbish you tube video" is offered... !

My instructions said "try a 70Mpx image (or greater)"
Click on that "13600 x 10200" and you get:-
Click on that postage stamp thing - and its a web link to a website!
You NEVER get a 70Mpx image.
