Good graphic card for playing BF3 on the pc

I have many games but always end up playing bf3. I currently use a old xfx gtx 260 and im now getting a bit of lag now and then so now im thinking i should be looking for a upgrade card. What would be the best card i could get for around 200 pounds max to play bf3 with the wow factor and it doesnt matter about the psu as i know that my current one is future proof (cousair 850hx)

If I was you, I would try and hold out for another month or so as the new Nvidia line up will be released then.
If they are good then in turn they will push the prices of the latest AMD ones down.

If you really cannot wait, then I would suggest for Nvidia either a regular GTX560ti for around £160 or GTX 560ti 448 core version which comes in around £200.
If you prefer AMD then at the moment the only choice would be the HD6950, I believe the HD7870 will be released soon though but have no idea on pricing.

I have a regular GTX 560ti and it plays BF3 comfortably on high settings, if you want to play the game fully maxed out then you will need a real power house of a card.

A word of advice - is your CPU up to it

I don't play BF3 but when I looked at upgrading my 8800GT GPU it turned out that I needed a Core i7 CPU as well to get any real benefit in the latest FPS games

Re: Good graphic card for playing BF3 on the pc

this is one of them leading questions ,, ATI or Nvidia  Cheesy i personally have 2x 6870,s and get average 60-80 fps , and game runs sweet.
what i would say is go for the best you can get for your budget but get one with 2gig memory  it makes a bigger difference as bf3 is a memory hog.
the other things i have found out are it runs better with 6gig RAM  rather than 4 as they suggest, also adding a SSD  greatly increases game load times  Wink
have a look here http://www.scan.co.uk/shop/computer-hardware/all/gpu-amd/377/501/1006/1005/972 i would think best for you budget  Wink
