Firefox v Internet Explorer

I have used Firefox for a long time......currently Version 3, however, on recently upgrading Internet Explorer to Release 8, I-E seems to be faster than Firefox in searching for sites and downloading pages.
Anyone else found this?
I am considering swtching to I-E, however, A Firefox add-on enables advertisements to be blocked.  How can I block adverts using I-E?
Regards.....Noel

No, I haven't, jelv.  I hadn't realised that there was a version available later than 3.0.11 !
I'll try to upgrade now!  Thanks.......Noel

Re: Firefox v Internet Explorer

.....I've just upgraded, jelv and yes, Ver 3.5 seems to be more responsive.
I'll pursue with the new Firefox.
Thanks for your quick response.....Noel
PS  Mind you, I'd still like to know how to block ads in I-E!

Just check as some of your extensions may not work until they are upgraded.  I love Firefox Grin
