I thought I was doing well with my new Windows 7 (x64) computer until it decided to update to Service Pack 1.
It refused to install and I went all around the houses trying all the things that windows suggested, checking out all the error messages, to no avail.
Suddenly I was aware of an almost subliminal flash of a message that Firefox was incompatible.
I exported all my bookmarks to Internet Explorer 9 and removed Firefox and lo and behold, Service Pack 1 installed like a lamb.
With my spelling abilities I needed a spell check and stumbled across Speckie which seems to do the job well.
Has anyone else had this problem with Firefox which I understand is a 32 bit application.

Browsing this page using Firefox 5 running on Win 7 64 bit Professional SP1. No problems.
Now Zen, but a +Net residue.

Firefox 5 and Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium SP1 and no problems.
And I did have Firefox installed when I installed SP1.

Just tried to re-install Firefox 5 and Windows tells me non-compatible software.
I know when I'm beat.

Switched PC on this afternoon and Windows reported it was repairing it'self. Eventually it finished and I tried re-installing Firefox 5. It installed and runs without problems now. All's well that ends well.
