Re: Firefox 6 just wiped all my cookies

I guess the sqlite database file that Firefox stores cookies in these days got corrupted somehow.
Yesterday I decided 600MB was wasting too much space as Firefox's cache, so I decided to limit it to 256MB. Immediately on typing in the "2", Firefox reduced the cache to 2MB.

Re: Firefox 6 just wiped all my cookies

That was my thought.
it is just a pain trying remember which passwords I used on which sites as on most of them Firefox isn't set to remember them

Re: Firefox 6 just wiped all my cookies

FF 6 wiped my cookies and lost my tabbed group arrangement. I think it was offended when I looked at add-ons.

Re: Firefox 6 just wiped all my cookies

I'm having the same issue with FF6 - on my home PC I've lost cookies twice this weekend, and on arriving at work have found the exact same thing this morning. The pcs have different settings/addons so my guess is it's a bug in the new version of FF as I've never seen it before in all the years I've been using it.

Re: Firefox 6 just wiped all my cookies

Been on FF6 for a few days now, and all my "MyBroadbandSpeed" history has disappeared. Is this stored in a cookie? Might this be another similar case?

Re: Firefox 6 just wiped all my cookies

Housemate and I have been having this problem as well (Mac for me, Windows for him) both on Fx6 (or 4.2 as I'd rather call it - but that's a different debate!)
I keep restoring mine from a backup on the mac Sad

Re: Firefox 6 just wiped all my cookies

And I too just lost all my cookies - but I was able to get them back by closing firefox and then copying cookies.sqlite.bak to cookies.sqlite within the firefox profile directory (and just in case, deleting the emptied cookies.sqlite.bak-rebuild file). cookies.sqlite.bak must have been automatically created.

Re: Firefox 6 just wiped all my cookies

I think one of the difficulties is that Firefox thinks the cookie.sqlite file gets corrupted somehow during a session, and so it gets removed. But you don't notice at the time because Firefox keeps working normally, and the cookies remain in memory. You only notice it's gone after restarting Firefox.
I will try and keep the folder with cookies.sqlite open and see if I notice when the file gets rebuilt, plus keep the Error Console open in Firefox.
