Firefox 57 no support for FireFTP

As I see it I have two options

Change to Waterfox and keep on using it

Don't do FTP access via the browser

The only non browser solution I have experience with is https://filezilla-project.org/ and I found it a bit clunky

Yonks ago I tried using Windows Explorer and gave it up as a bad job

Thoughts and advice please as i only have a month or so before Firefox 57 hits me

Re: Firefox 57 no support for FireFTP

1. Have a look at http://www.coreftp.com/download.html

2. Look at the Pale Moon browser - it supports FireFTP

Re: Firefox 57 no support for FireFTP

Thanks @jelv that will be worth looking at when - or just before the evil day approaches

Fortunately the two sites I look after now use Wordpress (I changed them) and that doesn't need FTP access to make changes

Fix

Oldjim, not sure what specific features you're seeking from an FTP program, but you could take a look at WinSCP. I switched to it from FileZilla some time back and much prefer it.

Re: Firefox 57 no support for FireFTP

I tend to use WinSCP these days. Did rely on FireFTP but for unrelated reasons switched to Chrome as my go to browser, so had to plump for an alternative.

But the OP said he didn't much care for FileZilla.

Plusnet are often criticised for not reading all the previous entries on a fault/ticket. And then we see the same on here - people posting replies without reading the whole topic (and it's not a very long topic either!).

Re: Firefox 57 no support for FireFTP

Sorry - but then I would use a standard CLI program such as FTP. Thumbs_Up

But we also don’t know when OJ last used FileZilla and for someone to state using that as a preference might indicate it has improved. (It hasn’t)

I use WinSCP on windows and Transmit on Mac.

Re: Firefox 57 no support for FireFTP

Thanks @Oldjim, I'll try that as I was annoyed at the failure of FireFTP as a result of this Firefox update.
