Since the demise of my trusty PC (self-build in 2012) where the power supply seemingly took out the motherboard, a couple of HDDs amongst other things I have had to start again with a new self-build but with W10 Pro. Yeah, I know I said I would never use it but with W7 support being discontinued early next year it left me with no choice. In fact, using the latest version (1903) I have things looking more like W7 with the benefits offered by W10 plus the great thing was I could use my W7 Pro licence to activate W10 Pro saving up to £200!
Anyway, under W7 Pro I could use Alt+E then Alt+V to move a file/folder with ease. This brought up a dialogue box in which I could choose where to move the file to including creating a new folder(s). This was very quick and convenient but seems absent in W10 Pro. All my searching has not found a solution - is there something similar?
New build specs (if anyone's interested):
Cooler Master 625S Case
ASUS X470 Prime Pro MB
AMD Ryzen 7 1700 8-Core CPU
ASUS NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti 4GB DDR5 GPU
120GB Crucial BX500 SSD for temp files, etc.
32GB (2x16GB) Ballistix Sport DDR4 3000MT/s RAM
Samsung 970 EVO Plus 250GB SSD for System files, etc.
Corsair 750W 80 Plus Gold fully modular PSU
Syba PCIe 4 Port SATA III Controller Card
2 x 2TB 7200 HDDs
plus from old PC
3 x SSD (240,100, 60GB)
2 x HDDs (2TB and 500GB)

Surely CTRL+X, CTRL+V (cut & paste from source to destination) works?
Does for me on all Linux file managers that I've tried, anyway.

Yes, that works but if you want to create a new folder at the destination then that has to be done first.

Those short cut keys are not part of a standard Windows install, it must have been an add-on of some sort, Power Toys possibly?

I don't remember having an add-on but it's not impossible. Haven't heard of Power Toys.
