One interesting COMMENT from someone seemingly working at an ISP:
"No issue with it. We use it as a tool to help engage the customer with helping to diagnose the fault properly else they may face a charge, rarely have faults being found within our realm.
People conflate Wi-Fi as being everything including the actual Wi-Fi. Ironically it is usually the Wi-Fi signal which is the issue and not the connection in."
