FTP Upload Problems

Hi all,
I have read many post about people have trouble uploading using FTP.  I have read most of them for ideas but am still comming unstuck.
A am trying the following to connect:
Opening up internet explorer and typing in ftp://ftp.plus.net//
The user name and login in appear.
Username; as per login
Password************
These are the same login and password that i useto log into plusnet site but i am getti gno where.  What am i doing wrong???

The address is ftp://username@ftp.plus.net and then you get the request as shown in this picture - by the way remove your username

Hi Jim thanks for you reply.
I have typed in the URl link and i get the box as show in your reply.  I then substitue username for my actual user name.  The screen does a refresh but i stil get nothing.  I have tried disabling my firewall and made sure that i have the enable tfp folder view in the options in my internet explore?

This may be heresy for you but try installing Firefox then FireFTP http://fireftp.mozdev.org/
When you start it the account details are as these two pictures.
I have blacked out my username in the two places

Hi Jim I have done as you have suggested but when i enter my user name and password all i keep getting is an error code 530 login incorrect.  I am using the login details that we use to login to the plus net home page.  Please see attached screen shot.???

You may need to raise a ticket as something is rather badly adrift.
Alternatively wait for a Plusnet rep to pick it up.
If nothing has happened by tomorrow midday I will nudge someone.

Hi Jim,
Thanks for your help.  I just cant believe this is turning out to be so difficult.  I saw a post a while back with a similar problem someone was having and plusnet did something  their end and then it worked fine.  Maybe i have the same problem.

Hi,
Jim's asked me to have a look, seems to be failing for me too so I've attempted a fix. Will take about 15 minutes for that to go through, give it another try after that. I'll check again before I go home.

WHOOOPY 
Have tried it today exactly the same as i have always done and it works.  I was starting to think i was going mad!!!!! .  Thank you both very much indeed.
