FTP Access to 1&1 Website via FireFTP - SORTED

This is a bit odd

I normally connect to the site using FireFTP in Firefox and this still works for my Plusnet hosted site and my site hosted on TSOHost

I hit major problems with my 1&1 hosted site - first it wouldn't carry out a directory listing and when it eventually did I couldn't switch between folders

I contacted 1&1 and we went through all the usual troubleshooting steps to no avail and in the end I downloaded Filezila and it all works fine

Any idea why FireFTP stopped working - could it be that the upgrade to Firefox 47 is the problem

Re: FTP Access to 1&1 Website via FireFTP - SORTED

Fix

I went to here https://answers.squarespace.com/questions/26259/how-do-i-connect-fireftp-to-sftp.html and found that the information I had been given for the settings wasn't correct

Putting them in as per this link - difference is that instead of prefixing the hostname etc. with sftp I just put in the hostname etc. and selected  SFTP as Security

Is this signature any good?
