No not really. In fact it was all very trouble free, and cured a couple of issues I was having with Vista, that have not carried over to Win 7 as some thought it might. I rather like that "glass" effect to window edges, indeed I've set them slightly wider than the standard.
When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you. But because in that brief moment while the coin is in the air. You suddenly know what you are hoping for.

X.P. is dead as a dodo and well past its sell by date, Linux is alright, But for full capabilities and to unlock your pc's true potential it has to be Windows 7, Its just great in every way, In saying that windows 8 will be forced upon us in the not to distant future and theres already a windows 8 forum started up!!

I left the Windows system intact, together with its rather manky NTFS file system; this was because:-
a) I've still got nearly 2 years left on a free support contract.
b) Officially it's not "mine" as my daughter has requisitioned it and she prefers the free M$ solitaire game to the free Ubuntu solitaire game...
c) I paid all that money for an OS I don't want...
d) I enjoy making sure that the anti-virus is updated regularly and slowing the PC down (hence the 64 bit dual-core).
e) I love defragmentation...
f) You get more updates to apply with M$ - although it mostly doesn't say why something should be patched (if it doesn't, I don't do it).
g) You get lots more screensavers with Ubuntu
h) Ubuntu is faster
i) There is no (i) - yet!

I found that AisleRiot Freecell version was very similar to the M$ one.

Without digging out the receipts I think it was about £65 for the single licence version from Staples (which I usually find are very reasonable for software, if a bit short on product ranges)
