While I am on about bookmarks, I have a query which I hope that someone can explain:
From time to time I take a copy of my bookmarks via Organize Bookmarks > Export.
I did this the other day and saved them in Documents (W7) but the icon is just the plain rectangle one that looks like a page with the corner turned over and has no FF graphic on it.
I do this in Vista and it is OK. The backup does work in W7 but I would prefer the picture on it for clarity. Please can anyone say what is going on here?

Quote from: Steve <snip> am I right In thinking Its because they cant make money out of this?
AIUI they have never asked for any money from users.
I believe they have in excess of two million users, if everyone of then coughed up $5.00 then Xmarks would have enough finance to run for five years at current levels.
I have read today that they (Xmarks) are apparently surprised by the reaction and may now offer a paid version.

Quote UPDATE: We’ve set up a Pledgebank page where you can sign up if you’re willing to pay at least $10 a year for Xmarks. No credit card is required, but please only pledge if you are genuinely willing and able to pay:

Quote from: Steve Interesting that Oddball thankyou, It does seem that Xmarks gets the thumbs up more than Firefox sync.
I got my email this morning from them..... about shutting down the operation..... and as far as I am concerned... Firefox sync is 100% better than NO Xmarks.... so ... thumbs down to Xmarks. !
