Edimax EW 7128G

I've decided to upgrade from XP to Win 7. I assumed the above network adapter won't work as I can't find a Win 7 driver on the edimax website and it had issues with the Microsoft  upgrade advisor.
I'm going for Win 7 32 bit is there any chance it will work do you think or should I buy a new pci card before doing the switch.

Re: Edimax EW 7128G

There is a Win7 driver listed on the Edimax download page. It's the one with 20091123 as the version.
If that doesn't work, you could try the generic ralink driver instead. Listed there as RT256x/RT266x.

How did I miss that.Huh
Thanks.
There must be some psychology along the lines. "Microsoft says it won't work - so it won't work!"

Re: Edimax EW 7128G

No idea about that one but the ralink RT256 driver for XP was a bit iffy. It worked fine as a client but I couldn't get it to go into AP mode and stay there (EG when rebooting) as most ralink based cards will. I found an older version of it on a website which worked perfectly.. just wasn't the latest one.
You're probably not fussed about putting the card into AP mode (not many people use them that way) but thought I'd mention it just in case.
I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!
