Dropbox/Skydrive photo album

Is it possible to create a photo album in either Dropbox or Skydrive that can be linked to from my own webspace enabling friends/family to view my photos?

Re: Dropbox/Skydrive photo album

you can create folders in your public area of dropbox / sky drive which you can share with your family.

Re: Dropbox/Skydrive photo album

I looked at that option and uploaded several photos to a subfolder within the Photos folder then copied the URL and added it as a hyperlink in my website but all I got was apage within dropbox that showed a list of the photos and not an album format - not sure what I could be doing wrong.
Edit: Ok solved that bit - needed to use the 'Share link' option.
Now does anyone know how to make the link go straight to the single photo view rather than the List or Icon view?
Edit 2: Think I've solved that by using the URL of the first picture. But when you click on the link it shows the icon list for a fraction of a second before showing the first photo. Not very neat but works.

Re: Dropbox/Skydrive photo album

You could get a "Flickr" account.... and then you can "categorise" your pics... to "Family"   ..... "Friends & Family"....  "Friends"   ... or  "Contacts"....  all you need to do then is to direct them to your flickr account address..

Re: Dropbox/Skydrive photo album

Forgot about Flickr - will have a look. Ta.
Edit: What I have noticed with DropBox so far is that when you close the album you're taken back to the list/icon view again but I want to return to my site - is that possible (with Flickr, perhaps)?

Re: Dropbox/Skydrive photo album

When you upload your pics to Flickr... you can specify who can see them... ( as detailed above)... so Family will be restricted to those "contacts",. who also must have Flickr accounts ,called "Family" and others (general Flickr browsers) will not have access to them....

Re: Dropbox/Skydrive photo album

Put your pictures in a dropbox folder and send a public link to the folder.

Mav, dropbox are about to launch a new feature called albums which might be of interest.
