Sounds like the common Australian "drop drone".

The odds are quite high if the drone is filming the athlete below and something goes wrong (which it did).

At least it wasn't

A 28-year-old man will face court after he allegedly used a drone in an attempt to smuggle drugs and a mobile phone into the maximum-security Melbourne Remand Centre at Ravenhall.
Police responded to reports that a small drone was hovering in the area around 5pm yesterday afternoon.

@DomS
What is the odds on that particular drone being hacked, to have caused the incident ?? ?? ?Huh

Depends on the vindictiveness of people.
You may remember back in t'old days the Robot Wars series where there was controversy over rival teams jamming signals.
It doesn't take much to make a wideband jammer - 2 or 3 seconds of interference could cause all kinds of problems.

What if
There was no hacker
& it turned out to be caused by something legitimate using a signal that inadvertently caused enough interference for the drone to drop
Since an event like that will not doubt have various frequencies / signals et al
Or
It could of been mechanical / pilot error(s)
