Downloading Itunes

My daughter has had an ipod for christmas and I have tried unsuccesfully on 3 different computers to download itunes. On each occasion, a file of approx 400kb is downloaded (instead of the 75MB that should do so) and nothing installs.
The 3 computers run different operating systems (XP SP2, XP SP3 and Vista). All 3 have Kaspersky v8.0.0.454 running. I have also tried disabling Kaspersky whilst downloading but this doesn't help. Any thoughts gratefully recieved.

Re: Downloading Itunes

Slightly off topic - but you should really upgrade to 8.0.0.506
In the meantime is it possible to uninstall KIS and try again on one of the computers. There have been the odd report of problems with the earlier versions and itunes although I am clutching at straws as both my daughters use itunes with KIS without problems
Just checked and they started with itunes 6 and it is up to version 8 now - apparent file size 35MB http://www.itunesd.info/itunes.html?gclid=CNe244ru4ZcCFRlPEAodcl4bDA
One thought - they both use Firefox

Re: Downloading Itunes

There's a site here that claims to have the latest version of itunes (no personal experience, usual caveats apply!):

See here:

"Solutions to common installation errors - Here are some common symptoms you may see when installing iTunes and QuickTime for Microsoft Windows. If you are experiencing one of these symptoms, try the suggested troubleshooting steps"

Re: Downloading Itunes

personaly, unless you are going to use the iTunes store, don't install the thing.  google "free MP3 rippers" and download one of those to rip your current CD collection onto your hard disk, then just plug the ipod in and copy over the ones that you want. IMHO  iTunes is a major pain, specialy since you need to register every ipod, as well as set the sync' options properly or encounter some more problems.

@rlmjam
You sure it's not just the Web Installer that's being downloaded. A lot of vendors now use this method that, when double click the icon, it connects to the web and downloads the software as it's installed.
But as MuppetGrinder stated, use something else to rip the CD.
