Re: Domain Name Server

Fix

@mort7890, I've replied to your PM. Based on the instructions your host gave, you'll need to make a slight modificaiton to your CNAME record.

Re: Domain Name Server

Not much else I can say really other than thanks to the OP @mort7890 and @7up for raising this and for @bobpullen for his response.

I have had companies manage DNS on my behalf and they weren't good (trying not to swear now!).

As I've said DNS is a pain in the backside (still trying not to swear!). The company I did it for fell out with the company doing the www hosting and for reasons I don't know they didn't pay them. Of course they then suspended the hosting and I had to move it elsewhere as a friend asked me. Apart from the mistake I made changing the A record (bringing their website down) - they didn't notice and I corrected it. Phew and all that 😀

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I can definitely think of things that are worse! It gets easier when you manage your own website and want to do different things - in my case I wanted to experiment with my self written mail server so i needed to change things about.. after a few months of tinkering, retinkering and tinkering again it all kinda becomes 2nd nature.

If you really want a challenge write your own dns server.. I did.. urgh..

I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!
