Do you love your IP neighbour?

I am sure plenty here will already have seen this web site but it was new to me and quite interesting so I thought I would post it for others to use.
Take a look and see who your neighbours are, or for that matter someone else’s neighbours!  Roll_eyes

Re: Do you love your IP neighbour?

i don't appear to have any.  i do, however, have a static ip.  after entering and getting the result, it opened up the dialogue to get into my router management.

I think that is because you are entering YOUR IP address rather than the IP address of your web space. The utility returns the names of other web sites that are hosted on the same web server as you.

Re: Do you love your IP neighbour?

My 'neighbours' are a very mixed lot. Mostly credit/loan companies with the usual mix of gambling, porn, holiday sites too. Something that I find interesting is the other domain I have on the same server doesn't show up. Even though it points to a subfolder on the same web server.

Re: Do you love your IP neighbour?

Yup, 770 is unbelievably low - it should be several hundred thousand!
All Plusnet users websites are hosted on the same server (homepages) so all of them should be listed.

Re: Do you love your IP neighbour?

...including force9 websites on one little server. Must be a good 'un.
It's the same number as I get so that must be how many websites Plusnet hosts.
I fully expect to be contradicted... Wink

Re: Do you love your IP neighbour?

I put in the domain I have hosted on Plusnet's servers sorry server Wink Smiley
I have 2 domains and if I put in one I can see the other. It's possible nay probable that their system restricts to displaying 700 sites.

Re: Do you love your IP neighbour?

Top link isn't it! One of my (non plusnet) domains has approx 1000 neighbours so I don't think there is an arbitrary limit of neighbours shown.

Re: Do you love your IP neighbour?

One of my work domains comes back with 3 neighbours when I know for certain there are 19, and another shows 174 when I know there are 628 currently.  I also suspect that the server that I host some other domains on a shared host has more than 587 on it, especially since 20 of them are mine with only 6 showing.
