Debian Mail Server

im trying to setup a debian mail server at home, So far things have gone ok and most things are setup. The only trouble is im having is if i try to email an accoutn i have setup on the server. Im getting a mail delivery failure come back saying Error: Domain not hosted here.
Does anyone know what could be causing this. I have added DNS and setup a Zone etc for this. The only thing that might be causign a problem is i cant seem to setup a static IP. If i do then the server cannot see the internet.

Re: Debian Mail Server

What mail server software are you using? It'll probably be one of either Exim, Postfix or Sendmail.
Chances are you'll need to tell the software the domain it is accepting mail for, in Postfix this is in main.cf, in sendmail it is usually the file local-host-names

Re: Debian Mail Server

im using postfix and i thought i had already put my domain name in for what it is accepting mail for. i will have a look in the main.cf and see what i can see.
