DVD Backup Ripping

HI,
I am looking for a DVD ripper, preferably free, to backup copies of a box set I have.
if possible I would prefer one that copies the whole disk including the menus.
Cheers,

Re: DVD Backup Ripping

Doubt you will find anything for free that does the job.
Slysoft may have what you need but no idea of the prices.

Re: DVD Backup Ripping

I assume this is legal what you're wanting to do. If you just want to copy everything then Imgburn will do that. Simply create a disc image and then burn that to an empty disc.
There are other ways that remove copying obstacles like region encoding but that's more of a grey area in terms of legality.
That's RPM to you!!

Re: DVD Backup Ripping

It is a very grey area, I think some dvd burners allow you to change the regional code several times, in addition some dvd players are region free.
If you already own something do you have the right to copy it ? Providing that such copies are for your own personal use.

Re: DVD Backup Ripping

Thanks everyone I shall take a look at them all.
RPMozley copying for backup and personal use of DVD was made legal in the UK earlier this year: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-29448058

Re: DVD Backup Ripping

It was indeed, but circumventing DRM/encryption wasn't.

DVD's don't have DRM or encryption worthy of the name.

Re: DVD Backup Ripping

General Point
Handbrake does not remove DRM
Removal of DRM is illegal in the UK however ineffective it may be in certain persons opinion

Jim,
It just goes to show that the mods are not above the rules as some around here have suggested in recent times and are indeed whiter and purer than the driven snow!
Thanks for the chuckle!
