On the listings on "Absolute uninstaller" there appears a program(?) with the title D3DX10 and the word "New" in read next to it... it is dated as 6 December 2012.
I don`t remember installing any prog with that name. so I right clicked and it shows it is Publisher Microsoft Version 15.4.2368.0902 ..... size 2.2Mb
Anyone any ideas what it is, what it does, and do I really need it ?
Google search shows a d3dx10.dll but not clear what it is, etc. etc.

It is part of DirectX 10 and was probably updated by Microsoft in the latest security patch

Note the Direct Play security update
