Cyberlink .exe

Cyberlink .exe

I have a new (to me) laptop which I am going to reformat  solely with Ubuntu.
At the moment it has Vista on it and a  Cyberlink programme that has never been executed.
Question is, before I reformat, can this be taken off and possibly used elsewhere if necessary?
I know that I couldn't use it if it had been activated but this hasn't.

Re: Cyberlink .exe

It depends whether it's a standalone exe file (that will either run from where it is without requiring installation, or will install the relevant program) or if it's part of a program that's already installed and most likely in the Program Files folder.
If it's the former, yes you should be able to move it to a different PC. If the latter however you won't.

Re: Cyberlink .exe

Thanks for the reply Matt. I had the same laptop and when I installed this programme I clicked on the desktop shortcut and it ran through all the installation sequence.
I plan to reformat with Ubuntu LTS 10.04 when it is out of beta and released so will copy the folder to my external hard disk before just in case it might be of use sometime.
