Could IE11 crash cause PPP drop (or vice versa?)
For those with a deep seated hatred of all things Microsoft, and Internet Explorer in particular, all I can say is that although I sometimes use Chrome for comparison purposes, I've never had any issues that needed to concern me using IE browsers (currently 11.)
In particular, I don't recall a single occasion when it has hung or crashed.
Yesterday afternoon however, whilst attempting to log onto my router by typing the URL into the address box, the numbers became corrupted, and there were some strange colours appearing in the box. The main window advised something along the lines of being unable to connect to the internet, and I looked up and noticed that the internet light on the TG582n had gone out.
Closed and restarted IE11, and everything seemed normal for the first tab, internet light came back on green, but even hovering the cursor over the next favourite on the favourites bar caused the tab to disappear, as it did with each tab in turn until there were none left!
Rebooting the PC seemed to sort it out, and it's been behaving normally since then.
The router log showed the following:

The router's DSL stats don't show any drop in session.
I installed Mozilla Thunderbird last week and was using it in place of the now no longer supported Outlook 2003, but that's the only software change of any sort recently.
It seems highly unlikely that a PPP drop can trigger a browser crash or vice versa, but I have to ask whether anyone has experienced anything like it?
(In case no one has, perhaps someone could explain what an 'mbus atomic sync' is - sounds cool, and I'm glad it was successful :-\, but it's a new one on me, and I've seen plenty of telnet router logs in the past few months! :D)
