Connected PC not showing on hub manager?

All phones and laptops have always been visible when connected until recently, my sons PC no shows even when it is connected and in use. The other day he disconnected and reconnected and it showed up at the time, but no longer. Disconnecting and reconnecting made no difference today. No idea how this is even possible, does anyone have a clue? Many thanks

Re: Connected PD not showing on hub manager?

Should've said, his PC does show on the network.

Re: Connected PD not showing on hub manager?

So, computer is visible on the network, and can be connected to, but it DOES NOT show on the hub manager. all other devices do show as normal. It used to be visible, no obvious reason for the recent disappearance (reinstalled win7 a while back but that shouldn't alter anything). Makes precisely NO SENSE WHATSOEVER, tried switching off and switching back on everything to no avail. And it appears no-one else has any ideas either, including google, plusnet 'support' and forums. Shouldn't even be possible, but it's happening right now.

Unclear what you mean by "The Network" and "Hub Manager", or indeed what a PD is?

Is wifi involved or do you have ethernet cabling?

Re: Connected PD not showing on hub manager?

HI, thanks for replying. Network is the computers and devices connected to the internet at my home, windows explorer - Network. The 'invisible PC is showing there and can be connected to through explorer. Hub Manager is the access to the Plusnet router that we all have, where you can see and control the devices accessing the internet through your router. PD is PC. (this typo was corrected almost immediately in both the original post and follow text, not sure where you are seeing this) All Wi-fi, no Ethernet has been used for years. Makes no sense at all, everything worked with set up for years and there's been no relevant change other than this one PC disappearing from the hub manager while it's still connected. Even more puzzling that it 'came back' briefly the other day after being disconnected and reconnected, but that same operation has made no difference at all since then,

Not all of us!  Many people use different, often better, routers.  Wink

Re: Connected PD not showing on hub manager?

Is there a nearby wifi router (probably unsecured) that this rogue PC connects to?

If its possible why not try using a wired ethernet connection to rule this out.

Re: Connected PD not showing on hub manager?

No. It's set up exactly as it always has been previously when its connection was visible as normal. Well, no deliberate changes have been made anyway. Could stop it with a wired connection but this doesn't explain how it happened in the first place.
