Hi all, could someone please explain what this all means, the date and time that is mentioned has now passed and nothing has happened. should i be concerned ?
BOT = ?
WLR 3 = ?
This is copied from my "questions and answers" page, it refers to a date and time which is 23 hours after i had a successful, albeit delayed by 10 days, installation of my phone line and number transfer from Virgin Media.
When can i look forward to Plus Net internet ?
Tim

WLR = Wholesale Line Rental
- the name of a specific Plusnet task group.
Since your question was to be released back to that team at 9AM this morning I would expect further work to be in progress. If your phoneline is now active I assume that includes ordering broadband for you and notifying you when that has been done. Have you checked if any closed tickets/service notices have been added to your account? The automated systems sometimes add those.
It it likely to be be Monday before Digital Care staff are here again to take a look at your account information. The CSC are available 24x7 if you want an earlier answer.

It can and does lead to misunderstanding or non comprehension.
I know someone who on hearing of the death of a friends mother,send a sympathy email and concluded LOL,thinking it meant Lots of Love.
I now always ask what is meant,even when I know.

Quote from: anniesboy I dont think of it as jargon, its just laziness.
The problem comes partly from the complexity of the 'question' system itself. Tickets are used not only for Plusnet to communicate with customers, but also for the various people tasked with helping to communicate with each other. When it comes to the latter, a kind of short-hand is bound to develop, since these people are saying the same things to each other in lots of cases. The trick is to make sure the customer is kept up-to-date where necessary in terms everyone can understand. I'm sure this is not always achieved, but I tend to think if there's some jargon in a ticket I don't understand, then it probably wasn't intended for me anyway.

It's down to how we organise the various workflows, which is generally done by ticket pools. BOT deal with all the provisioning so have several pools, of which BOT - WLR3 - Delayed orders is only one so in order to keep the list manageable we have acronyms rather than using the full team name.
Appreciate it's not ideal and can be confusing on tickets, but it does help a great deal internally as far as keeping things organised is concerned

BOT has 47 different meanings, Broadband Operations Team is not one of those.

Given that the ticket pool name is only shown when a ticket is taken off hold, and can easily be explained either here or in the ticket, I hope you're happy that we're leaving it as is - though apologies for the confusion.
