Hi there, I noticed that PlusNet are selling BT Sport for £6 a month. I only have Freeview because I have never seen the benefit of getting sky. I see the BT Sports 1&2 are in my guide but the channel is 'scrambled'. Is there a way I can get BT Sport from PlusNet without having the Sky Digital Platform?

Not currently. PN are trialling a TV product but there's been no announcement of launch date, pricing or channel line up.

In a similar vein I have a satellite dish and receiver (not sky specific), could I get BT Sport through my Plusnet account?

Only if the dish is pointing at 28 degrees east and you buy a Sky receiver. The encryption system is proprietary and CAMs for it (to fit in the CI slot on a standard receiver) are not available though some solutions apparently exist involving software CAMs and dodgy servers.
If the dish has a multi output LNB fitted you could your existing receiver in parallel.

Thanks pwatson
Dish has a dual LNB but easily swapped for a quad.
However I won't be purchasing a Sky box any time soon so that kills the idea.

The dealbreaker is the Sky box.
It's the only way we can really support BT Sport at the moment.
