Camera IP's keep changing

I have recently changed my broadband from BT to Plusnet. I have 5 IP cameras whose IP addresses keep changing with a consequent loss of feed. This happens regularly. It was suggested that I change the DHCP range to avoid the cameras' IP's but the Plusnet settings won't let me. Please don't get too technical with any answers because most of this is beyond me.

Thanks

Re: Camera IP's keep changing

@dorbra  Welcome to the forum.

You don't tell us which cameras or Plusnet Hub that you use. This would be helpful.

On most cameras you can set/change a set IP address. If you can set/change it each should be be given a separate IP address in the range 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.63. this will fix the problem with both current Plusnet Hubs. If the camera has to use DHCP to get an IP address then it depends on the hub how/whether it can be fixed. Hence the need for the missing information.

The cameras are Vivotek IB8369. The router model number is 2704N.

Re: Camera IP's keep changing

@dorbra I believe the 2794 has a hidden set of menus to allow access to the advanced settings http://192.168.1.254/expert_user.html

There should be options in there to fix the ip addresses allocated  to certain devices

Re: Camera IP's keep changing

I've been into the settings for the router and while it allows me to change the IP address 192.168.1.254 to something else, it won't allow me to change 192.168.1.1. It was suggested by the tech support for the cameras that if I could change that address to say 192.168.1.30 it would prevent the cameras addresses from being changed.
