Not sure if this is the right site, I've got a new laptop as mine was stolen in a burglary and I don't want to download all the music I had on iTunes onto the new one but I don't know how to go about transferring a new cd onto my ipod, or if that's even possible. I've read about a couple of programmes that are supposed to do this but reviews aren't good and they don't seem to work. I'm not very technical at all so if anyone has a bit of advice that would be great.

If you have Itunes you can import it into there quite easily.
Start Itunes and with it on the My Music screen, click on Edit. then Preferences, then where it says When you insert a CD, go to the import settings and you can select from AAC, AIFF, MP3, Apple Lossless or WAV and the bitrate that you want it to sample the CD at, Check Error Correction & Retrieve details from internet.
On advanced settings you can choose where you store your music.

Yes, dvorak that is what I'm worried about. I don't think I will bother, as I don't really know what I am doing!

have a look at MediaMonkey it should be able to both rip and copy to your ipod without having to lose anything.
